Creating and using presets for command parameters

Netfabb's commands can have extensive lists of parameters. Rather than typing and modifying them by hand every time a command is used, using the settings management is a fast, convenient, and also safe way to store and recall parameter values.

Settings management as used in Shell Creation

(dropdown)

Pick your setting of stored parameter values here. By default, if there is only one set, it is called "New setting".

Any modification to a setting's stored values, default or not, is indicated with the suffix "(modified)". More than the currently selected setting can have this state.

Caution: Netfabb does not prevent you from having multiple settings with the same name.
New setting

Begins creating a new setting with the current parameter values, and prompts you for a name. Clicking Cancel in this dialog aborts the creation of a new setting.

Setting options

Export or rename the currently selected setting, import a new one from an XML file, or reset the setting to its stored values, if modified.

The name of the setting used in the dropdown is stored in the XML file and is independent from the XML file's name.

Renaming alone does not save the setting.

Save setting

Overwrites parameter values in the currently selected settings with the ones in the dialog.

Caution: This is irreversible and immediate.
Delete setting

Deletes the currently selected setting. Deleting the last one automatically creates a new one from Netfabb's built-in defaults.

Caution: This is irreversible and immediate.

The presets so defined are stored as XML files at %APPDATA%\netfabb\parameters.
