To Draw an Area Takeoff

Record an area using a series of line segments.

Use for: Recording room sizes, and closed polygonal areas.

1. In the Quantification workbook, select the Item you want to associate with your Area Takeoff.
2. On the 2D Takeoff toolbar, click Area .
3. Click the sheet to position a start point. Notice that the cursor changes to a snap (green vertex) when you move it over existing geometry.
4. Move and click to position your next vertex.
5. Continue moving and clicking until you have completed your Area. Ensure your last vertex creates a closed polygon. You can use snaps to help align your final Vertex with an existing one.
6. Right-click over your last vertex to finish. The properties of your Area takeoff appears in the Takeoff Pane.
