To Use Bucket Fill Takeoff

Trace an existing polygon or area to create a takeoff.

Use for: Tracing room perimeters or areas in closed polygonal geometries.

  1. In the Quantification workbook, select the Item you want to associate with your takeoff.
  2. On the 2D Takeoff toolbar, click Bucket Fill .
  3. Click within a geometry boundary on your 2D sheet, or drag a line across the geometry you want to select. The areas, vertices and line segments within your selection are highlighted.
Tip: To switch between linear and area takeoff, click again in the geometry boundary. Area takeoffs are denoted by a semi-transparent fill, linear takeoffs by the linear boundary only.
  4. If necessary, continue clicking within additional geometry boundaries. These will be added into the same selected item, as separate takeoff objects in the workbook.
    Note: To delete, press Esc.
  5. Press Enter, or right-click on the sheet to finish. The takeoffs are displayed in the Quantification workbook.
