VUE Page

Use this page to adjust the options for the SmartPlant VUE file reader.

Faceting Factor

Enter the required value to control the level of faceting that takes place.

The faceting factor must be greater or equal to 0, where 0 results in the faceting factor being turned off. The default value is 1. To get twice the number of facets, double this value. To get half as many facets, halve this value. Larger faceting factors result in more polygons to a model and larger Autodesk Navisworks files.

Max Facet Deviation

This setting controls the greatest distance between the edge of a facet and the actual geometry.

If this distance is greater than the Max Facet Deviation value, Autodesk Navisworks adds more facets.

If the Max Facet Deviation is set to 0, then this function is ignored.

Use MDB Properties

Select this check box to read the properties from Microsoft Access MDB files (default).

Deselect this check box to ignore these properties.

Use IOP Transforms

When there is an IOP file with a name matching the VUE file being loaded, select this check box to apply the xml transform data in the IOP file to the loaded scene (default).

Deselect this check box to ignore the transform data in the IOP file.

Hide Welds

Select this check box to hide welds (default).

When this check box is clear, welds are displayed.

System Path Property Name

Enter a property name for the system path if the default names (System Path or SP3D_SystemPath) are not being used. The entered name is used when the New Hierarchy option is selected.

System Path Delimiter

Define the characters that distinguish the levels of hierarchy for the system path. Whenever this character is present, a new child node is created in the Selection Tree. If nothing is entered, the default \ character is used. The delimiter is used when the New Hierarchy option is selected.

New Hierarchy

Select this option to display the hierarchy from VUE files in the Selection Tree, matching what is seen in SmartPlant 3D based on the System Path value.
