Import/Export Page

Use the options on this page to customize CSV and XML import/export options.

CSV File: Read Encoding

Specifies the format of the text file that will be used when importing a CSV file into TimeLiner. Choose between Unicode UTF-8 (for the traditional 8-bit character coding) and Multibyte (for larger coded character sets).

CSV File: Write Encoding
Specifies the format of the text file that will be used when exporting a CSV file from TimeLiner. Choose between Unicode UTF-8, Unicode UTF-8 with BOM (byte-order mark), and Multibyte.
Note: Data is exported in default order, without taking account of TimeLiner column order or selection.

For best results when exporting non-ASCII characters to Microsoft Excel it is recommended that you use the Unicode UTF-8 with BOM option.

Force Duration

Sets a duration for tasks when you export them to XML. The duration is based on a standard 7 1/2 hour working day to calculate the number of days duration of tasks. For example, if a task starts on day 3 and finishes on day 4 of a schedule, then it will have a duration of 2 days.

Retain Start Dates

Applies the start date of each task in the TimeLiner schedule to tasks exported to XML.
