One way — The tool cuts in one direction:
One way grouped — The tool cuts in one direction and PowerMill chooses the shortest distance between each toolpath segment:
Two way — The tool can cut in two directions and PowerMill chooses the shortest distance between each toolpath segment. The toolpath segments are joined with lead and link moves:
Two way joined — The tool can cut in two directions and PowerMill chooses the shortest distance between each toolpath segment. The toolpath segments are joined with cutting moves:
Two way ungrouped — The tool can cut in two directions:
Up — The tool's cutting moves always take place on the upward stroke. PowerMill re-arranges the order and direction of the toolpath segments to achieve this. This may result in splitting segments which include a change of direction.
Down — The tool's cutting moves always take place on the downward stroke. PowerMill re-arranges the order and direction of the toolpath segments to achieve this. This may result in splitting segments which include a change of direction.
