Slice Editor toolbar

Slices contain the contours used by PowerMill to calculate area clearance toolpaths. You can use the Slice Editor toolbar to delete and save toolpath slices. When you have made the edits, recycle the toolpath to apply any changes you have made to a toolpath slice.

Any changes you make to a model, block, tool, tolerance, thickness, workplane, and boundary parameters of a toolpath regenerate all slices. You can change the stepover, style, spiral option, and cut direction settings without risk of losing slices that you modified.

This toolbar contains the following:

Delete a specified level — Click to delete the slices and slice segments on a selected level.

Delete a specified pocket — Click to delete the slices and slice segments on a selected pocket.

Delete a specified area — Click to delete the slices and slice segments within an area by selecting a contour within that area.

Delete the selected slice — Click to remove the selected slices and exit the editor.

Quit picking mode — Click to discard any changes and exit the editor mode.

Restore deleted slices — Click to bring back any slices you have just deleted.

Save slice — Click to save the selected slices as a picture.

Delete all slices — Click to delete all the slices.

Note: When you delete the selected slices, any subsequent toolpaths are calculated using the remaining slices provided no changes are made to the: model, block, tool, tolerance, thickness, workplane, and boundary parameters of the original toolpath.
