You can enter expressions in either the
Expression Editor or in the selected parameter field.
The parameter names that have '.' after them require an additional value to complete it. When you select a parameter name that includes a '.', a list containing the possible values to complete the parameter is displayed.
When you have calculated an expression, you can:
- Assign the expression to the parameter field. This means the parameter value is automatically recalculated when a parameter in the expression changes.
- Make sure the expression is displayed in the expression field. If the expression value is displayed, click
to display the expression.
- Click
. This displays the expression value in the parameter field with a blue border to signify the field has a retained expression.
- Assign the expression value to the parameter field and discard the expression. The parameter value is not automatically recalculated when a parameter used in the former expression changes.
- Make sure the expression value is displayed in the expression field. If the expression is displayed, click
to display the expression value.
- Click
. This displays the expression value in the parameter field.
