Command window

You can perform most PowerMill commands by simple mouse operation. However, you can also type commands using the command window.

This window is not visible by default when you start PowerMill. To display the command window click View tab > Window panel > User Interface > Command Window.

Note: Ensure the cursor is in the graphics window or command window when typing.

The command window is detachable, resizable, and dockable.

Splitter bar — When the cursor is over the splitter bar it changes to . Click and drag the left mouse button to resize the window.

Gripper bar — When the cursor is over the gripper bar it changes to . Click and drag the left mouse button to move the window.

Use this to move the command window to the left side, right side, the top (below the ribbon), the bottom (above the status bar) or detached.

— Click the close button to close the command window.

Note: The cursor can also change to a by placing the cursor at any of the other three sides of the command window.

Scroll bar — Use the scroll bar in the standard windows way to see data currently hidden in the command window.

Detaching the command window — Drag the command window so that it does not dock at any side of the PowerMill window, or double-click in the gripper bar (or at any other edge of the command window provided that the cursor is a ).

Double-click the title bar of the detached command window to dock the command window to its previous, docked position.

Problems docking the command window — With a large command window it can sometimes be difficult to move it to a new location as it always jumps back to its current position. If you experience this problem decrease the size of the command window and then it is easier to relocate.
