This example shows how to measure the XY distance between two points of a model. It uses the chainsaw.ige model in the Examples folder.
Preparing to measure
- Click Home tab > Utilities panel > Measure to display the Measure dialog.
- Click a button in the Measure Geometry area to display the Measuring Tools tab.
- Click Measuring Tools tab > Projection panel > Plane Project.
Selecting the points:
In the graphics area, click the two points
and
.
You can see:
the XY component of the line between the two selected points.
the line between the two selected points.
Selecting the points displays the Measure dialog with the XY distance displayed in the Distance field.
If the guide line
is shown in either the ZX or YZ plane you are using the wrong principal workplane. To change the principal workplane, on the
Information toolbar, select
