Use the
Workplane page of the
Options dialog to set the default workplane options.
- Click File > Options > Application Options > Object > Workplanes.
- Specify the default settings for workplanes using the following options:
-
Grouped — Select this option to create associations between the workplane, and objects created while the workplane is active. This means that if you reposition the grouped workplane, the associated objects move with it. If a grouped workplane is deleted, the objects remain in place, but their coordinates now relate only to the global workspace. If a grouped workplane is ungrouped, the object associations are lost. Deselect this option to treat each workplane as a simple 3D local coordinates system. These workplanes can be moved, but objects drawn previously remain in place.
-
Local point input — Deselect this option to input a position into the coordinates text box on the status bar as XYZ coordinates. For example, if you type
20 0 0, the position is X20 Y0 Z0. When this option is selected, the values are input relative to the current principal plane. For example, if ZX is the current principal plane, then 20 0 means a position of Z20 Y0 X0.
-
Show active workplane when layer off — Select this option to display the active workplane when its layer is turned off.
-
Use relative workspace when available — Select this option to use the relative workspace if available. Deselect this option to use the absolute workspace.
-
Filter — You can use a filter to display only certain names in the
Workplane combo box on the
Status bar. Enter the filter pattern in the text box.
