To work with custom keyboard shortcuts

Use the Keyboard Shortcuts tab of the Customise dialog to create your own keyboard shortcuts for commands on the ribbon. Keyboard shortcuts are displayed in the tooltips of ribbon commands. To display the dialog, click File > Options > Customise Keyboard Shortcuts.

Create a keyboard shortcut

  1. Choose the ribbon tab that contains the command from the Ribbon tab list.
  2. Choose the command from the Ribbon item list.

If a shortcut already exists for the selected command, it is displayed in the Shortcut box.

  3. Specify the new shortcut using the Ctrl, Alt and Shift options, and options from the Key list.
Note: If you do not have one of the Ctrl, Alt or Shift options selected, you can only choose from F function keys in the Key drop-down list.
  4. Click Create to assign the shortcut to the selected command.

If the shortcut you have created already exists, you are asked if you want to reassign this shortcut.
