Use the
Thickness Analysis page of the
Options dialog to specify options for thickness analysis:
- Click File > Options > Application Options > Tools > Analysis > Thickness Analysis.
- Use the following options to specify the thickness analysis settings:
-
Computation method — Select an option to define the way that the thickness is calculated.
-
Coarse
— Coarse, but fast calculation. This is the default setting and should be suitable for most users
-
Approximate
— Slower, but more accurate calculation.
-
Precise
— This option gives you micron accuracy, but this type of calculation takes longest to complete.
-
Resolution — This enables you to adjust the resolution of the colour map, by adjusting the number of points on the model for which the thickness is calculated. The resolution can be entered as a percentage of the model size or as a figure to represent the thickness. For best results, enter the wall thickness in the region you want to analyze, particularly for models where the wall thickness is thin. So, if you know that the relevant wall thickness is 3 mm, enter this as your resolution, with
Resolution in model units
selected from the
Units options.
-
Units — Select from
Resolution
as a percentage of the model size (default), or
Resolution in model units to define how you enter the
Resolution.
