To specify member settings

  1. On the ribbon, click Structure tab Parts panel Settings menu Member Settings.
  2. If a member in your drawing has the properties you want to use for all new members, click Match Properties and select the member in the drawing area. The Member Settings dialog is populated with the appropriate values. Modify the values if desired, as described in the following steps. When finished modifying values, skip to Step 10.
  3. In the Member Settings dialog box, in the Shape Standard list, click a shape standard.
  4. Under Shape Type, click the desired shape type in the list. To search for a shape type, enter the entire shape type name or part of the shape type name in the box, and click .
  5. In the Shape Size list, click the desired shape size. The available sizes depend on the currently selected shape type. To search for a shape size, enter the entire shape size or part of the shape size name in the box, and click .
  6. In the Material Standard list, click the desired material standard to use for newly created members.
  7. In the Material Code list, click the desired material code to use for newly created members.
  8. Under Angle, enter the desired angle value, or click a value in the list. You can click to increase the current value by 90 degrees.
  9. (Optional) Do any of the following to change member orientation:
    • Click a point in the Orientation preview image to define a justification point.
    • Select the Flip About Y Axis check box to orient the Y axis in the opposite direction.
    • Select the Align Y Axis with Z UCS to align the Y axis of the member with the Z UCS.
  10. Click OK.
