To convert an AutoCAD object

Although converted AutoCAD objects have the same grip and dynamic behavior as any P&ID component, converted AutoCAD lines do not have the same dynamic behaviors of P&ID schematic lines. For example, a converted line does not automatically break when inline components are inserted in the line. Nor does it have flow direction properties.

  1. In a P&ID drawing, right-click an AutoCAD object or line and click Convert to P&ID Object.
  2. In the Convert to P&ID Object dialog box, click a component (for example, a Centrifugal Pump) or line in the tree view.
  3. Click OK.
  4. In the drawing, if prompted, specify an insertion base point.
