Use this dialog to specify the location of notches.
By default, the program checks for notches at the end of the member.
Access
- Select End notches in the Member Definitions - Parameters dialog, and then click Notches.
Dialog elements
Notch depth (nd) and notch length at compression face (e)
- Notches at
- Specify where the notches are located: Both ends, Right end, or Left end.
- Notched face
- Specify which face of the member contains notches: Top or Bottom.
- Notch depth
- Enter the notch depth nd.
- Unsupported notch length at compression face
- Enter the length of the unsupported notch e.
