The following dialog lets you select parameters for a volumetric finite element mesh. This option is available in the Volumetric Structure Design module after you select a volumetric structure element and click Analysis menu > Meshing > Meshing Options.
In the Type of elements field, you can select the type of a volumetric finite element used to generate a finite element mesh:
- 4-node tetrahedrons
- 8-node hexahedrons.
Using the slider, you can select the type of volumetric finite element mesh to generate: from a coarse mesh to a fine mesh. If you select Additional meshing of solid surface when generating a mesh of volumetric finite elements, a mesh on a solid surface (contour) is also generated. Note that using this option, increases the volumetric element mesh density.
