Characteristic Points

Use this dialog to define coordinates of the characteristic points, for which member calculations or verifications will be performed.

Access

  1. In the Steel/Aluminium design layout, click Configuration in the Calculations dialog.
  2. In the Configuration dialog, click Options.
Note: The SP16.13330.2017 code replaces the former SNiP II-23-81 and SP16.13330.2011 versions of the code for steel structures. Therefore, all references to tables or sections of the code apply to the SP16.13330.2017 code except otherwise stated.

Dialog elements

Simultaneous calculations at characteristic points and at the even-division points
Performs structure member calculations for both the defined characteristic points, and the number of calculations points.
Note: The number of calculation points can be defined in the Number of points option of the Configuration dialog.
Points for min/max values
Select the points in which the internal forces reach their maximal values.
Note: Internal forces include: longitudinal force Fx, transversal forces Fy and Fz and bending moments My and Mz.
Coordinates of additional points
Enter the coordinates of the additional points, and then specify if these coordinates are relative or absolute.
