Access this option by clicking the Load case classification - duration button in the Configuration dialog.
The dialog contains the options to allow assigning an appropriate class of load duration to simple load cases defined previously. You can calculate the relevant coefficients modifying material strength kmod and coefficients considering displacement increment in time due to creeping and changes in humidity. When calculations involving combinations or code combinations are performed, combination components are analyzed and the appropriate values of kmod and kdef coefficients are selected.
To define a class of load duration:
- On the load case list select a simple load case which will be ascribed a load duration class (for example, WIND1)
- In the Load class according to duration field choose an appropriate class (for example, 4 Short-term)
- Click the > button to move the case to the panel located to the right if the load case list; if all simple load cases are to be defined, the same class of load duration, the >>button is selected - and results in the assigning of the same class of load duration to all the load cases from the list.
To modify earlier-defined load cases, move the load cases to the Case list panel using the < or << buttons, and define them with appropriate classes of load duration in compliance with the description presented above.
