Create load cases

Follow the instructions below to create a load case.

1. In the Standard toolbar, select Loads from the list of layouts. The Loads table displays, and the Load Types dialog opens.
   Note: If you're not using the Loads layout, you can also click Loads Load Types to access the Load Types dialog.
2. In the Load Types dialog, specify the nature of the load: dead, live, snow, wind, or seismic. The load nature depends on the code you selected. The Label and Name boxes are automatically updated with the abbreviated name of the load case. You can enter your own Label and Name values.
3. Where applicable, specify the subnature of the load.
4. Click Add. The new load case is added to the list of defined cases.
   Note: The self-weight load of the structure is automatically generated when a dead load is added.

Repeat these steps for each load case that you want to add.
