The option is used to determine stiffener positions along the member length. It is accessible after pressing the Stiffeners button in the Member Definition - Parameters dialog box.
In the above dialog box the user may specify distribution of stiffeners along the beam length (it is expressed in real coordinates or in relative coordinates, with respect to the beam length).
Based on positions of transverse stiffeners, the program defines length of a web without stiffeners; this is the basis for calculation of the shear buckling resistance of web Vb according to point 4.4. The V b resistance is calculated by means of a simplified method in compliance with point 4.4.5.2 for sections with slender webs satisfying the conditions provided in point 4.2.3. In the remaining cases control of web shear is carried out as specified in point 4.2.3.
