Calculation parameters

This option is used to choose and/or define calculation options for RC members. Open the Calculation Parameters dialog, using either way:

After the option is selected the dialog box shown below will appear on the screen.

In the top part of the dialog box the following icons are located:

Similar to dialogs defining other structure attributes, defining a set of calculation parameters for RC members in a structure is divided into two steps:

  1. Definition of set of calculation parameters.

If in an active list of parameters lacks defined calculation parameters. or if a new set is added to the parameter set, click the Definition of a new set of calculation parameters icon. Two situations are possible:

    • If any calculation parameter set is not highlighted, clicking opens a dialog to define a new set of calculation parameters. Fields in the this dialog are filled with default settings.
    • If any calculation parameters set is highlighted, clicking opens a dialog to define a new set of calculation parameters. All fields are filled using the highlighted set.

New sets of calculation parameters get a new Set name with the next free ordinal number. The name can be changed and should be unique. Default sets of parameters cannot be changed and different data can not be saved to these names.

Also, you can open the dialog for defining a new calculation set by double-clicking an element in the active list of parameter sets. The Calculation Parameter Definition dialog opens with all fields filled according to the parameter set selected. Click Add (or press Enter) to add (or update) the new parameter set to the list. You receive a warning prompt if a label is not changed and a new parameters set is opened.

  2. Assigning a set of calculation parameters to structure elements.

To delete a set of calculation parameters from the structure:

  1. Click on the active parameter set list,
  2. Select an object in the structure you want to delete the parameter set from

You cannot modify this type of parameter set; it is assigned the same way as the member type is to a structure element.
