Repair a Corrupt Central Model (File-Based Worksharing Only)

When using file-based worksharing, you can repair a corrupt central model.

Each time a user synchronizes with the central model, a background process runs to detect possible file corruption in the central model. If Revit determines that the central model is corrupt, an error dialog displays, directing the user to repair the central model before continuing.

Repairing the central model will cause users' local copies of the model to be out of sync with the central model. After the central model is repaired, each user working on a local copy of the model must close their active model and create a new local copy of the central before resuming their work.

  1. Instruct users to discontinue use of the corrupt model.
  2. Identify a workstation with a local copy of the central model you wish to use to repair the central model.
  3. Click Collaborate tabManage Models panelManage Models drop-downRepair Central Model.
  4. A message displays when the central model has been repaired.

  5. Close the active model.
  6. Create a new local copy of the central model.
  7. Direct users to create local copies of this new central model and resume their work.
