About Assemblies
The Assemblies category of Revit elements supports construction workflows by letting you identify, classify, quantify, and document unique element combinations in the model.
Create an Assembly
To support construction modeling workflows, create an assembly from elements that you select in the drawing area.
Work with an Assembly
You can add elements to an assembly, remove elements from it, or perform certain edits on selected elements within the assembly. You can also change the assembly's type and edit its origin to change its orientation in relation to the project orientation.
Disassemble an Assembly
You can remove the assembly relationship between individual elements in a selected assembly at any time. The disassembled elements remain in the model. Other instances of the same assembly type are unaffected.
Delete an Assembly
When you delete an assembly instance, all elements within the assembly are deleted.
Create Assembly Views and Sheets
You can create assembly views and assembly sheets for an assembly type. These drawings are always associated with a particular instance of the type, and only one instance of a type can have assembly views.
Assembly Instance Properties
When creating or editing an assembly, edit instance properties to specify its naming category, phasing, and more.
Assembly Type Properties
Edit assembly type properties to specify a keynote, manufacturer information, a description of the assembly, and more.
