You can combine two or more parameters to display in a single cell of a schedule.
Video: Combine Parameters in a Schedule
The values for the combined parameters are separated by a slash or other character you specify. For example, you could combine the dimension parameters for a door type, to provide the width x height x thickness values in a single column.
Notes:
- Because combined parameters are not assigned to a category, they cannot be reused. If you want to use the combined parameter in another schedule, you must redefine it.
- Combined parameters cannot be used as filter or sorting/grouping criteria.
- The values for combined parameters are read-only in schedules.
To combine parameters in a schedule
- Access the Combine Parameters dialog when creating or editing a schedule:
- You add and remove parameters by moving them between the panes:
- Highlight a parameter in the Schedule parameters pane and click
(Add Parameter) to move it into the Combined pane.
- Highlight a parameter in the Combined pane and click
(Remove Parameter) to move it into the Schedule parameters pane.
- Optionally, you can add a prefix, suffix, or sample value to the parameter.
The sample value displays in the Preview at the bottom of the dialog, so that you can edit as needed.
- By default, a slash (/) displays as the separator between combined parameters.
You can specify a different separator symbol in the Separator cells.
- Optionally, in the Combined Parameter Name field, enter a name for the combined parameter. If you leave this field blank, the Preview of value text is used for the name.
The name displays on the Formatting tab of the Schedule Properties dialog, and in the column header in the schedule.
- In the Combine Parameters dialog, click OK.
