Export Shared Parameters to a Shared Parameter File

You can export shared parameters from a family or a project to a new or existing shared parameter file.

Use these steps if there are shared parameters in the family or project that are not in the current shared parameter file.

1. Create or open a shared parameter file (the target file to which shared parameters will be exported).
2. Select a shared parameter in a family or a project, as follows:
   • In a family: In the Family Editor, click Create tabProperties panel (Family Types), and select the parameter to export.
   • In a project, do one of the following:
     • Click Manage tabSettings panel (Project Parameters), and select the parameter to export.
     • Create or modify a schedule, and select the parameter to export from the Available Fields section or the Scheduled Fields section of the dialog.
3. Click Modify (from the Project Parameters dialog) or Edit (from the Schedule Properties dialog).
4. In the Parameter Properties dialog, click Export.
   Note: The Export option is not enabled if the selected shared parameter is already in the current shared parameter file.

   A message displays informing you that the shared parameter will be exported to the shared parameter file you set up in Step 1.

5. Click OK to complete the export.
