Set cutback settings for framing element instances on the Properties palette.
Cutback is 1/2 inch by default.
- Select one or more joined beam instances.
- On the Properties palette, under Geometric Position, locate the Start Join Cutback and End Join Cutback parameters. Adjust as needed.
Note: Cutback parameters only display for joined ends of the beam.
These parameters adjust the cutback of beam instances used in medium/fine level of detail views. Positive dimensions increase the cutback. Negative values entered here extend the beam geometry, effectively reducing the cutback. Adjustments do not affect symbolic representation.
Note: When framing elements join with other structural elements, the geometry will not be flush. Cutback and end extensions override geometry. If flush geometry is required, either use the shape handles of the element or manually adjust cutback in the properties palette to adjust their visible extents.
If you define the Start Join Cutback and End Join Cutback parameters before sketching a beam, all future beams will use those parameters as a default.
