The Settings Dialog

Specify options to import and export elements between Advance Steel and Revit.

To open the Settings dialog:

In the Add-Ins tab Advance Steel Extension panel, click (Settings).

The dialog has the following options:

Option Description
Export based on view settings Exports objects using the Revit view settings.
Export grids Transfers grid elements.
Ignore beam cutbacks and extensions on export If selected, the cutbacks for beams without a fabrication shape, are not exported inside the SMLX file as a shortening feature. When importing the SMLX file inside Advance Steel, shortening features will not be created at the end of the beams.
Disable join for beams on import Disables the automatic Revit joint for steel beams during import.
Content indexing

Linked Revit libraries panel - specifies the Revit content that can be used by the mapping transfer system. By default, the Revit content is not linked to the mapping system - a warning is displayed on the right-bottom corner ot the Settings dialog.

When content is added to the mapping system, the index file is updated by using the OK button.
