Set an option to automatically lock elements when using the Align tool.
When you use the Align tool, its options have been moved from the Options Bar to a contextual tab on the ribbon. In addition to the existing option of multiple alignment and the wall face preference setting, a new control is included to automatically lock the aligned elements. Set this option to automatically lock elements as you align them. You do not need to click the lock icon to establish a locked relationship between the elements.
