When assembling a stair using individual components, use the run component tools to create common runs, such as straight, arc, spiral, or winder.

- Component runs automatically interact with other components in the stair system, such as the landing and supports.
- You can create multiple runs and have Revit LT automatically create landings to connect the runs.
- You can choose to have a railing created automatically when the run is created.
Note: You select the railing type in stair edit assembly mode, but you do not see the railing until you click Finish to complete the stair.
- Run components can be individually modified using direct manipulation controls.
Types of stair runs
Create the following types of runs using the basic common run component tools:
- Straight
- Full-Step Spiral (full number of risers to reach the next level, can be greater than 360 degrees)
- Center-Ends Spiral (less than 360 degrees)
- L-Shape Winder
- U-Shape Winder
