When you try to use a shared parameter file you receive a message it can't be read or is not valid.

Issue: Shared parameter files created in a newer version of
Revit LT , including point releases, may be invalid when used in an older version of
Revit LT. This can occur if the shared parameter file includes parameter definitions based on new units or unit types (specs) or category definitions that are not present in the older version of
  Revit LT.
Solution To use unit definitions from a newer version of
Revit LT in a project, save the project in the newer version of
  Revit LT. The
Revit LT project file will then have access to the unit definitions in the project, enabling use of the shared parameter file. If possible, coordinate to have all users working on a project on the same release of
Revit LT. As an alternative, remove the parameters which use the incompatible units or categories from the shared parameter file and try loading again.
