Send a Model to Revit

The Integration with Robot Structural Analysis or Integration with Revit link is a tool which allows bidirectional data exchange between Autodesk® Robot™ Structural Analysis Professional (Robot) and Autodesk® Revit® (Revit). Transfer a Robot Structural Model to Revit

1. In Robot, select Add-Ins > Integration > Autodesk Revit Structure to open the Integration with Revit Structure dialog box.

2. Do one of the following:

   • Select Send model to send the Robot model only.
   • Select Send model and results to send the model and associated results.

3. Select Send options to open the Integration with Revit Structure -- Send Options dialog box.

4. Select the scope and transfer options, and then select OK.

5. Select OK to start the transfer.

   • If you select Send to the intermediate file (.smxx), the Save as dialog box displays. Use this dialog box to save a file in the intermediate file format of SMXX.
   • If you select Send model and results, and the results are available in Robot, the Update Results dialog box opens. Use this dialog box to specify the names and descriptions, and then click OK.

   You can view the progress of the transfer, including reading data from Robot, creating a Revit model, exporting elements and creating relevant elements in Revit from the Send Model to Revit Structure dialog box.

Update a Robot Model from Revit

1. Click Add-Ins > Integration > Autodesk Revit Structure to open the Integration with Revit Structure dialog box.
2. Select Update model and then select Update options to open the Integration with Revit Structure - Update Options dialog box.
3. Select scope and transfer options, and then select OK.
4. Select OK to start the update.

You can view the progress of the transfer (update of necessary data in Robot resulting from changes made in Revit) in the Update Model from Revit Structure dialog box.
