Revise a Single File with the AutoCAD Vault Add-in

Create a new revision of a file or a selected group of files with the AutoCAD Vault Add-in.

You can select whether to perform a primary, secondary, or tertiary revision bump. If the selected file is not the latest version, the Revise command is disabled.

Use the Revise command to create a new revision of a file or a selected group of files.

Note: The Revise command is disabled if the selected file is not the latest version.

Revise Files in AutoCAD

  1. Select the file that you want to revise by performing one of these options:
    • In the Autodesk Vault ribbon, click Revise.
    • In the External References palette, right-click one or more files, and then select Revise.

    The Revise File dialog box is displayed.

  2. Select whether you want to perform a Primary, Secondary, or Tertiary revision.
  3. Enter any comments regarding the revision bump in the Enter Comments field.
    Note: If bumping multiple files and all of the files are of the same revision scheme, the default comments can be selected from the Enter Comments list.
  4. If you want to preview the changes, click the Preview button to launch the Revise Files Preview dialog. All of the files affected by the bump are listed with the current revision ID, the new revision ID, and which revision scheme is assigned to each file.
  5. Click OK on the Revise dialog to save the changes and close it.
