Parameters of a structure seismic analysis depend on a seismic code used during calculations of a structure influenced by seismic loads. Select Canadian seismic code NBC 2010 in the New Case Definition dialog or click Parameters in the Analysis Type dialog.
To complete the seismic analysis according to the rules given in the NBC 2010 code, define the following parameters:
- Site as classified in the Table 4.1.8.4.A
- Click Factors to specify Parameters Sa(0.2), Sa(0.5), Sa(1.0), Sa(2.0), Fa and Fv for a selected province, according to Table C-2.
- Coefficients: IE - Importance Factor (Table 4.1.8.5), Rd and Ro factors according to Table 4.1.8.9.
In the lower part of the dialog, the Direction definition and Filters buttons are located.
There is the additional button Base Shear; click it to open the Base shear dialog.
