Snow

Opening the Snow/Wind Load dialog and clicking the Snow tab displays the following dialog.

The dialog box is divided into several fields with certain option groups. When Snow is selected, Robot generates a snow load.

For the general snow/wind code, Eurocode1 and for the British version,you cannot automatically generate normal and extreme snow pressure, because a snow region is not specified. Therefore, the required pressure must be entered manually.

The Snow gathering field has the following options:

• Snow redistribution

  Generates a snow load that accounts for snow slipping from roofs, snow blowing off roofs, and snow collecting behind various obstacles (gutters and acroterions). The default snow loads are generated with regard to the snow redistribution on roof planes.

• Gutters

  Specifies the envelope nodes in which additional obstacles have been placed to prevent snow from slipping roof planes. These obstacles force the snow to stay on roof planes and increase the roof load locally. Envelope nodes can be entered manually or graphically.
