Fire design dialog - ANSI/AWC NDS-2012

Use this dialog to define additional parameters for fire design.

Note: The program use the rules from paragraph 16 of the code to perform the fire calculations.

Required fire endurance
Specify the minimum time of exposure to fire required for the member.
By default, the minimum time of exposure is one hour.
Protection of section sides
Specify which sides of the member are protected against fire.


Continuous protection of space between parts of double section
Specify if the space between two parts of section is closed.


Note: When the space between two parts of section is closed, the internal sides of the section are protected, and only the external faces are exposed to fire.
Fire retardant factor
Specify if the material is a pressure impregnated fire retardant treated wood.
Enter a value for the Fire Retardant factor to specify the reduction in compression, bending, shear, and deflection resistance of wood treated with fire-retardant chemicals.
