Apply loads to structure elements

Once a load case has been set up, it can be applied to structure elements such as nodes, bars, or surfaces.

  1. Click Loads Load Definition. The Load Definition dialog opens.
  2. Go to the tab corresponding to the type of structure element on which the load must be applied.
  3. Click on the type of load that you want to define. A dialog corresponding to the type of load selected opens.
  4. Specify the necessary values for the load, and then click Add. The type of load is now displayed under the load case name in the Load Definition dialog, and the cursor changes to a load symbol.
  5. Apply the loads to the structure in one of the following ways:
    • In the Apply to box of the Load Definition dialog, enter the numbers corresponding to the structure elements where you want to apply loads, and then click Apply.
    • In the drawing area, click on a structure element to apply the load on it.
Note: You can click on several structure elements consecutively.
    • In the drawing area, select all necessary structure elements, and then click Apply.
Load symbols appear where a load was applied to the structure.
