End Plate Splice Connections for Hollow Sections

End plate splice connections allow you to connect collinear elements of tubular or rectangular hollow sections.

Generalities

An end plate splice connection consists in a front plate which connects two collinear elements of hollow sections. It is possible to add stiffeners to this type of connection.

End plate splice connections are available for structures using Eurocode EC3 codes or PN90 codes.

Examples of end plate splices

Stiffeners

It is possible to add stiffeners to the splice connection in order to avoid a deformation of the front plate.
