To Download and Install the 3ds Max Help Locally

If you download a local copy of the help, you will not be able to see updates as they are posted: It is a good idea to check the Web page regularly, www.autodesk.com/3dsmax-helpdownload-enu, to see if there have been updates.

  1. On the Preferences dialog Help panel, choose Local Computer/Network.
  2. Click Download.
  3. From the "Download and Install (current version) Product Help" table toward the bottom of the Web page, choose the language and version of the help you want to download, then click that link.

    Local help builds are posted as self-extracting executable (EXE) files.

  4. When the download has completed, run the EXE file.
  5. On the Help panel, click Browse.
  6. Browse to the location of the newly installed help. By default, this is C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\Help\3dsmax20??\en_us.
  7. Click OK.
