Exporting FBX Files for Games

Use the Real-Time Exporter utility to efficiently export your game models and animations clips in FBX file format.

Procedures

To export game models as an FBX file:

  1. Open the Real-Time Exporter.
  2. Select FBX as the File Format.
  3. From the Export Set list, select what you want to export.
  4. Select the Geometry, Miscellaneous, and Animation settings. See below for more details about Animation settings.

    To export game animations as an FBX file:

    1. In the Animation group, click Add New Clip.
    2. Enter a clip name and define the Start and End frames.
    3. To preview the animation, click Play.
      Note: You can change the clip length you are previewing by updating the Start and End frames and clicking Set Playback Range to Clip.
    4. Repeat the above steps to enter as many animation clips as desired.
    5. Select the animation clips you want to export by selecting Toggle Export of this Clip.
  5. To access a complete list of export settings in the FBX Export dialog, click Advanced Settings.
    Note: Any changes made in the FBX Export dialog will sync with the Real-Time Exporter.
  6. To view the file after export, select View file in FBX Review after export in the Path group.
  7. In the Output group, select where the export file path and name.
  8. Click Export.
