About variants
As you work on a model, you typically change the camera view back and forth between two or more areas of interest. The view panel, the NavBar, and the Variant Lister let you save these views of the model as variants and return to those views by clicking the name of the variant.
Variants store the following:
- Camera information
- Shading attributes (from the Diagnostic Shading panel or WindowDisplay > Hardware Shade
), annotations (created using tools in the Paint tab), grid display, switch shader assignments.
- Geometry attributes, including object visibility, locator visibility, layer symmetry, reference file and file set visibility, reference symmetry.
- Layer, layer category, and reference layer visibility.
