You can create pick items, such as objects and object components, then include them in a selection set. After creating a selection set, you can view and edit it as well as create more sets using the Object Lister (Windows > Object Lister). See Working with selection sets in the Object Lister.
Selection sets do not appear in the Object Lister until your file contains one or more sets. If your file does not include selection sets, follow the steps below to create them.
Pick multiple objects, components of an object, or other supported node types.
These items can include curves, surface NURBS , or subdivision surfaces, components (CVs, vertices, edges, faces), and cameras.
Choose Edit > Create a Set >

You can change whether a set is exclusive or inclusive later in the Object Lister window by clicking the Set Exclusivity
icon.
