Group and ungroup objects

When an object is part of a group, it retains its own transformations (position, rotation, and scale) and can also be affected by any transformations made to the group.

Group several objects into one object

  1. Pick the objects you want to group together.
  2. Choose Edit > Group .

Break a group into its component objects

  1. Pick the group.
  2. Choose Edit > Ungroup .

Pick an object from within a group

  1. Choose Pick > Component .
  2. Pick the object.

Group and ungroup objects using the Object Lister

  1. Choose Windows > Object Lister to open the Object Lister.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To group objects, select several objects or nodes in the Object Lister, click one of those items with the and choose Group from the menu.
    • To ungroup objects, select a group node in the Object Lister, click it with the and choose Ungroup from the menu.
    • You can also click an item (object or node) with the and drag it into or outside of an existing group to add or remove it from that group.
