If you insert an external reference (xref) into the current drawing, and you want to change the way the program represents xref entities, use the AMXREFSET command. The program saves changes only to the current drawing, not to the xref itself.
When you start AMXREFSET, the Xref Processing dialog box appears. It includes the following options:
Xref Annotations are Invisible
Makes annotations of the xref invisible in the drawing.
Xref Hidden Lines are Continuous and Black
By default, the program draws hidden lines as dashed lines and places them on layer AM_3. If you select this option, the program keeps these lines on layer AM_3, assigns them the color black, and draws them as continuous lines. Because hidden lines are not recognized as contour edges by the Hatch function, we recommend making these lines invisible if they are in the hatched area.
Xref Hidden Lines are Invisible
Makes hidden lines of the xref invisible in the drawing.
Redraw with Color
You can assign one color to all xref entities, making those entities easier to distinguish from other entities in the drawing.
The program cannot color entities on layer 0. To change the color of entities on layer 0, move them to a contour layer such as AM_0, AM_1 and AM_2.
Data Processing - Bind
You can attach and save all xrefs in the drawing as internal blocks.
Data Processing - Reload
You can update changes made to an xref drawing. This function is useful when multiple people are working on the same xref at the same time.
