To Import the Symbol Libraries From Another Drawing (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)
At the Command prompt, enter AMSETUPDWG.
In the Drawing Setup dialog box, click Overwrite Settings.
At the command prompt enter W for the Wizard option.
Select the Import Settings from drawing template option.
Click Browse
Select the file to import the symbol library from and click Open.
Note: To import from a .dwg file, you must first save it as a .dwt file and then import from the dwt file.
Click Next.
Select the import options.
Select the Custom import option.
Select the Symbol libraries check box and click Next
Select the standards you want to import the symbol libraries for and click Next.
Note: Due to the dependency between the current standard and system variables, AutoCAD Mechanical toolset does not let you clear the check box next to the current standard.
Select the Symbol Libraries you want to import.
Select the Replace option and click Next.
Note: The Replace option replaces the symbol library in the current drawing with the libraries in the drawing you are importing from. The Overwrite option replaces only the symbols that have the same names as the ones being imported. We do not reccomend the use of the Append option in AMSETUPDWG.
