The first time Civil 3D is opened after installation of the tool the InfoCenter should display a notification balloon to alert you that: “Geotechnical Modeler has been added to Civil 3D”.
Note: To confirm installation files have been copied to the correct folder, you may look for the C3D-GeoTechModeler-2023 folder in the Windows Program Data directory located here: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\
Once the Geotechnical Modeler installation is complete, you may run the tool from the newly installed ribbon tab.

You can also access the Geotechnical Modeler tools, commands, and dialog boxes by using the command line. To get started, enter the command GM_ManageData to create a new project and import data.
If the installer fails or the tool fails to start, make sure to fully uninstall any previous versions of the Geotechnical Modeler.
You can manually uninstall the Geotechnical Modeler by deleting the C3DGeoTechModeler-2023 add-on folder located here:
The supporting files can be uninstalled by deleting the Lithologic Patterns and Template Drawing folders located here:
You may also choose to uninstall and delete the local project database used by the Geotechnical Modeler. Delete the project database folder located here:
If the Geotechnical Modeler commands are not recognized by Civil 3D, confirm that the installation files are in the correct location: You should see the folder GeoTechModeler-2023 located here:
Additionally, you should see the folder C3D-GeoTechModeler-2023.bundle located here:
