To Create a Surface From a TIN File

Importing a TIN file creates a surface object on which you can perform all the standard data operations and editing. The import operation is displayed as the operation type Import Surface. See About the Surface Definition.

You can use this command to import a TIN file from an Autodesk Land Desktop project. To import the TIN file, the accompanying PNT point file must exist in the same source directory.

  1. Click Home tabCreate Ground Data panelSurfaces drop-downCreate Surface From TIN Find.
  2. In the Create Surface From TIN dialog box, browse to the location of the TIN file and select it.
  3. Click Open to add the surface to the current drawing.

    The surface name is displayed under the Surfaces collection in the Prospector tree. For information about adding data to the surface, see About Adding and Editing Surface Data.
