Proxy graphics store the last viewed image of Autodesk Civil 3D objects, which lets users view your drawing without modifying the original objects. Proxy graphics store only the display representation for the current active viewport.
Note: Depending on the complexity of the drawing, a drawing saved with proxy graphics can become extremely large, slowing drawing performance. It is recommended that you make a copy of the drawing without proxy graphics before turning them on in the drawing you want to share with other users.
- Set up the drawing to display the view for which you want to create proxy graphics.
- At the command line, enter Proxygraphics.
- Enter 1.
- Save the drawing.
- To turn off proxy graphics, enter Proxygraphics, and then enter 0.
