Use the
InfraWorks Dataset Manager to reload bridges into a drawing from a updated IMX dataset, to view the dataset properties, and to remove the bridges from the drawing.
You can use the
Open InfraWorks Model command to bring an
InfraWorks IMX dataset into
Civil 3D, and then use the
InfraWorks Dataset Manager dialog box to reload the bridges into the drawing if the IMX dataset is changed.
Note: The
InfraWorks Dataset Manager dialog box lists only IMX datasets that contain bridges which have been brought into the drawing. It does not list SQLITE
InfraWorks datasets.
To open the
InfraWorks Dataset Manager
To review the status and properties of a bridge dataset
- In the InfraWorks Dataset Manager dialog box, review the Status column for the dataset.
- In the Properties column for a dataset, click the Properties link.
The
InfraWorks Dataset Properties dialog box is displayed.
- Review the properties and click OK.
To reload a bridge dataset into a drawing
If an IMX dataset that is used in the current drawing is republished from
InfraWorks using the Publish Civil Structures Update Existing command, a notification message is displayed at the status bar in Civil 3D that referenced data has changed.
Click the Manage InfraWorks datasets link in the message to display the InfraWorks Dataset Manager dialog box.
- In the InfraWorks Dataset Manager dialog box, select the check box for the dataset.
- Click Reload.
- The Reload option updates the bridge objects in the drawing with the data in the IMX dataset and updates the bridge projections in profile views.
- The Reload option only reloads bridges in the dataset and does not reload other
InfraWorks object types that may exist in the selected IMX dataset.
- If another feature such as a component road was updated in
InfraWorks due to changes in a bridge, it will not be updated in the drawing when you reload the dataset. For best results, delete both the bridge and the road in the drawing and then bring them in together again using the
Open InfraWorks Model command. This will ensure that the related objects are up to date and will also ensure that a corridor region for the bridge is created correctly (for example, so daylighting does not occur in the bridge area).
Tip: You can also reload a bridge into a drawing by right-clicking the bridge in the Prospector tree and clicking Reload on the context menu.
To remove bridges from a drawing
To remove the bridges from the drawing, you can delete the associated dataset.
- In the InfraWorks Dataset Manager dialog box, select the check box for the dataset.
- Click Delete.
Using the Delete option will completely remove the bridges in the dataset from the drawing.
Only the bridges that were created in the drawing from the selected IMX dataset are removed from the drawing. Other object types that may have been created in the drawing from the IMX dataset are not deleted.
You can also delete a bridge from a drawing using the following methods. If you delete a bridge or a bridge component using the following methods, the bridge source is not deleted in the InfraWorks Dataset Manager dialog box and you can restore the bridge by reloading the dataset into your drawing.
