To Create a Pressure Network From a Water Industry Model

You can create a pressure network from water industry model data that was created in AutoCAD Map 3D.

  1. Open the water industry model drawing in Autodesk Civil 3D.
Note: As a prerequisite to this procedure, the water industry model drawing must be created in AutoCAD Map 3D. The drawing should be prepared so that the industry model layers are visible when the drawing is opened in Autodesk Civil 3D. You may use the Display Manager tab of the Task Pane to control layer visibility.
  2. Specify the parts list to use for conversion in the CreatePressureFromIndModel command settings.
Note: If a parts list is not available in the drawing, specify the pressure network catalog and create a parts list.
  3. On the Home tab, click Create Design panel Pipe Network Create Pressure Network From Industry Model Find.
  4. Select the industry model data you want to convert and then press Enter.
Note: You can use standard AutoCAD selection options to select the data, or you can enter I for crossIngrectangle to select the objects within and crossing the boundary of a crossing rectangle. When using the crossIngrectangle option, the crossing rectangle can be drawn from left to right or from right to left.

The data is converted to an Autodesk Civil 3D pressure network.

  5. Check the Event Viewer for any messages.
